My experience as an activist and advocate began in high school over a decade ago. I have worked in spaces dedicated to the liberation for Black, Indigenous, Queer, and Disabled people in addition to larger anti-fascist, anti-capitalist, and climate justice projects. I have organised rallies, campaigns, and petitions in my career. This practical experience paired with my work towards both a Bachelor of Environmental Management (majoring in ecology) and a Bachelor of Arts (double majoring in politics and international relations and creative writing) ensures that my activism is grounded in lived experience and academic understanding.

Activism and Advocacy

  • Pride in Protest

    Feb 2019 - May 2020

Pride in Protest is an activist collective based in so-called Sydney that campaigns for social justice in the queer community and beyond. With this collective, I organised and spoke at rallies, did phone banking and other community engagements to get police out of Mardi Gras, and represented queer political interests at larger activist events.

Please note that I have since parted ways with this organisation due to their systemic problems with racism and anti-blackness.

  • UNSW People of Colour Collective

    Dec 2019 - Dec 2020

The UNSW People of Colour Collective was dedicated to working towards an anti-racist future. As a representative of this group, I educated students and the public on matters of race and racism, I fought for the rights and interests of students of colour at UNSW, and worked with other collectives on campus to further an anti-racist agenda. I worked with the Student Representative Council to bring anti-racist policies to student politics. As I was representing this collective during 2020, I did a lot of work around Black Lives Matter.

  • Pasifikally

    September 2021 - April 2022

Pasifikally was a podcast that platformed issues central to Melanesians. We discussed politics, art, culture, and everything that was pertinent to the Black people of Oceania. We highlighted stories the news ignored, and educated non-Black Pacific Islanders about issues relevant to Melanesians. We platformed West Papua, Kanaky, and other oppressed people of the Pacific.
